That's all there is to it - two different styles of play, both equally valid within the context of EVE. For anyone, on either side, to attempt to condemn the other side for their preferred style of play is simply stupid and shows their inability to understand that others may not share their own mentality.
That's pretty damn arrogant right there, our side is intrinsically evil and yours is benign and peaceful.
You highlighted the wrong part, or maybe you never read it. This is the bit relevant to your post: Quote: That's all there is to it - two different styles of play, both equally valid within the context of EVE.
I never mentioned the morality of either style, because morality doesn't really apply here at all.

You're playing a fantasy spaceship computer game, you're not doing ANYTHING constructive apart from wasting a few hours of leisure time.
Furthermore, many players enjoy all aspects of them game. For example, I trade, have run POS, manufacture (own over 300 BPO's), run the odd mission, and mostly I PvP which means blowing things up.
NONE of that is 'constructive', is just *is*... if you enjoy doing it, fine. But don't pretend to yourself that by playing a computer game you're doing anything constructive with your time. You're not.
Additionally, pirating is not about 'taking pleasure from inflicting harm on others', for many its a legitimate economic option and their sole means of income because they have a PvP focused character. NPCing is nowhere near as fun, or if you get piracy right, as profitable.
BS yourself matey. It is contructive within the game - don't drag this into RL. Some like to build and create, some like to tear stuff down, that's just the way it is and always will be. Oh, and please don't tell me that there aren't plenty people out there who thoroughly enjoy causing others distress, 'cause that'd just be too naive for words...
haha i constructivly completed sonic the hedgehog last night.
